Courtnell Street
Notting Hill, London

  • Found Associates were commissioned to transform this four-storey family home on Courtnell Street in Notting Hill, located within Westminster’s Westbourne Conservation Area. The brief called for a complete reconfiguration of the interior, the introduction of generous natural light, and a series of carefully considered extensions to create a contemporary family home while respecting its historic setting.

    Brief

The existing mid-terrace property required a complete internal reconfiguration, refurbishment and extension. The client’s ambition was to create brighter, more connected living spaces suited to modern family life.

Key objectives included opening up the ground floor and extending further into the garden, rationalising the split-level upper floors to improve usability, introducing terraces at first and second-floor levels, replacing the existing conservatory with a contemporary interpretation, and exploring the feasibility of a new basement level.
